Healthy Tips

I am honored to have been asked to be the "tipper" for the week. Please leave any questions that you have about diet/fitness and I will try my best to answer them throughout the week!
I have a lot going on in my life as do all of you; and I think too often, we are so busy taking care of everyone else that we forget to make time for ourselves. Remember, an unhappy mommy makes for unhappy kiddos.

Its All About Balance
You do not have to workout for 3 hours a day or count every calorie in order to lose weight. What you do need is to have a healthy balance of both. Eating well and exercising consistently will yield the best results you can get!

Make the Best Use of your Time

If you don't have much time at the gym, do weights! Cardio only burns calories while you do it. Lifting weights will help you burn calories even after your workout is done. (and you won't get bulky I promise!!)

Do it for Your Health
Regular exercise can:
Make you feel better about yourself
Lessen your chances of osteoporosis
Aid in fat loss
Speed up your metabolism
(just to name a few)

Tip #1 SNACK HEALTHY
It is so important to have enough nutrients in your system for you and your baby while you are nursing. Girls, we need to eat every 3 hours to keep our metabolisms running. As females we all love carbs but need to make sure that we get a sufficient amount of protein in our diet as well.
Make mini turkey sandwiches and load on the meat, spinach, tomato and cucumbers; forget the side of potato chips and have some veggies!
If you get hungry have a piece of fruit not candy, and if you are thirsty drink water not pop even if its diet!!

This week I will show you some exercises you can do from home, share some healthy recipes and hopefully convince you that being a health nut is fun!

Great tips Alanna! I drink a glass on v-8 when I make dinner to get in an extra serving on veggies and to not eat two dinners,

I love the tip about lifting weights if you're crunched for time. I always resort to cardio, which is better than nothing, I guess. But now I know that weights are better. I'll have to buy some.
