Tippin' Tuesday

today our question comes from reader tara who asks:

"when your child is sick...i am looking for any ideas to get you over those whiny, miserable days when you want your child to take it easy"
alright, so all of my kids (except the 2 year old) are sweet and cuddly sick kids. i like it when they are sick. we do use a few special things to ease the stress of an unplanned child-at-home:

* we keep game boys away, and bring them out on these occasions
*a portable dvd player can be placed on a child's bed for movies
*we have a "blah" bucket that is kept by the sickee for sudden upchucks
*i use frozen ready-to-eat meals (like pizza or something i already made)
*i stockpile gifts that i get on sale, and this is a great time to pull one out
*cancel everything unnecessary including dishes!

i am sure that you guys have a few tricks that you use to keep everyone's sanity during this stressful time, let's hear 'em all!

I don't treat fevers unless it's bedtime. Medicine give my kids a "fake healthy attitude" when they should be resting.

And movies. Lots and lots of movies!
