72-hour kit food

I've been using this food system for a long time in my 72-hour kit. At a quick glance I can see how our food is meant to last in an emergency. And when I restock, I know I have enough, when every bag is fully loaded.

That really does look amazing- does it all fit in a bag? How do you know when to roatate things- that's the hardest things for me.

How do you know how much to put in, do you do it by calories? To make sure you have enough? and I am interested also do you keep it in a bag or like a plastic bin?! Thanks for sharing!

I use a rolling suitcase! And I change out all my food once a year. I'll post more on how much later in the month.

Great idea! I have all mine in one big bag per backpack and then I wrote a 3 day menu so I know how it's rationed out.

In a world where there are starving people I do not understand the point of food storage. Would you not be better of donating your extra food to the hungry?

What do you do when your food expires? I understand having some extra food stocked up but I do not understand having a years supply or more. This is frivolous and wasteful!
